EVEN DESPAIR IS MAGICAL ON ICE
A play that is, in fact, what it sounds like: Kafka’s life and work set on ice…
Buntport has compiled all things Kafka into what is essentially a biographical look at the author, using his most famous work, Metamorphosis, as a vehicle. And, to top it off, it’s on ice, complete with some Disney-esque songs, lavish costumes and six actors who don’t really know how to skate.
But why Kafka on ice? Because it’s exactly where he wouldn’t want to be. Maybe.
The original 2004 show featured Gary Culig in the title role. The 2011 remount has Josh Hartwell performing as Kafka.
