A NOVEL ADAPTATION
An adaptation of the novel by Laird Hunt.
Nestled on a farm in the heartland, Noah Summers spends his time drifting through memories. At times, the memories are very loud and sharp, making Noah feel wide awake and a little sick… Other times they are soft with big curved edges like a French horn… Either way, Noah drifts…
As pieces of the non-linear story drop into focus, they reveal the tragedy of Noah’s long (but tragically short) relationship with his wife Opal.
Adapted from the novel by author and DU Professor Laird Hunt, the play is a departure for Buntport, Professor Hunt gave his creation to re-work for the stage, with no strings attached. This was the first time we adapted something while having access to the original creator. The book is rich with images and characters that we were eager to bring to life in this lyrical drama.
