Buntport Theater joined The Catamounts and Su Teatro– in the presentation of original adaptations of public domain works in select outdoor spaces around the Boulder Public Library and around Westminster Station Park on its second and third.

Buntport “adapted” The Drolatic Dreams of Pantagruel, making life size versions of some of the woodcut creatures from its illustrations, and performing a mostly wordless piece in which these creatures attempt to do relatively easy things. A silly, outdoor romp.

It’s big tubular body has a flowery vest and gold legs sticking out the bottom. It has big kind eyes with beautiful lashes and it loves to carry around it’s favorite giant stick that has a pretty bird attached to the top. The second creature is a very handsome bright yellow frog that wears a beautiful cape and red collar. It also has on a floppy cap with a red roll around the brim and a pair of very fancy and puffy pants. The Third creature has the head of an alligator with mirrors for teeth. It wears a one piece bright red suit and fun furry booties that have bells and yarn balls hanging off. This alligator also carries around a bow and arrow. And last but not least there is what looks like it could be a man, but is it? His face is gold with a very long nose and a red and gold helmet with a tassel hanging off. He wears a white founcy shirt and vest. His shorts are striped with red and white and are very high wasted. He is also wearing a pair of waders that are cut off at his knee and then attached to his wrists to help him pick up his feet. In his right hand, he holds a pair of very big scissors.

Its big tubular body has a flowery vest and gold legs sticking out the bottom. It has big kind eyes with beautiful lashes and it loves to carry around its favorite giant stick that has a pretty bird attached to the top. Kneeling in the foreground is a creature that may be a man, but we’re not really sure. His face is gold with a very long nose and a red and gold helmet with a tassel hanging off. He wears a white flouncy shirt and vest. His shorts are striped with red and white and are very high wasted.
