Buntport Theater

Buntport Theater’s Capital Campaign

Buntport is launching a capital campaign to buy our building! This expands our physical
footprint, cements our place in the Denver arts community, and creates more space and
opportunities for other artists. We are raising $2.65 million, which includes all costs
related to buying the building and all necessary renovations and repairs. It’s Buntport’s
Big Ask and we hope you can help make it happen!

  • Stability! Sure, 25 years in the same spot seems stable, but renting has always had the underlying threat of impermanence.
  • If we achieve this fundraising goal, we are setting ourselves up for creating unique theater experiences long-term in a financially sustainable way.
  • Our day-to-day operations will be streamlined by increasing and improving our storage and creating defined work areas.
  • It allows us to have permanent places dedicated to building sets, props, and costumes.
  • It makes our performance space even more malleable.
  • The new space comes with a forklift, which we are confident makes us the theater company with the most forklifts per capita.
  • Rehearsal space! We cannot stress enough how much rehearsal space is needed in our community.
  • Dedicated storage space with 24/7 access.
  • We will be able to create short-term artist housing for visiting performers.
  • More opportunities to present their work.
  • Better access to borrowing any of Buntport’s abundant amount of stuff. Need two full-body tube sock costumes or a load of fake mustaches?
    We’ve got you covered!
  • Keeping name-your-price ticket prices and low rental rates, removing barriers to both seeing and producing live art.
  • It allows space for community meetings, celebrations, workshops, and more!
  • Assurance that Buntport and other cool creatives will continue to produce odd, challenging, quirky work.
  • The creation of a legacy space that will be passed on to another non-profit in the distant future.
